One morning this weekend I was listening to a music CD. Yes, I know about MP3’s and Spotify. I still have vinyl too. Not reissue, original vinyl. Anyway. I was listening to a soft CD, nothing too jarring as I was still on my first cup of coffee. The CD ended and I thought I’d put on something else to listen to. I had set out an Eric Clapton CD along with a BeeGees CD. I looked at the Clapton one and thought “I’m not awake enough for Clapton”. So I put on the BeeGees CD, totally forgetting that the first track is “Staying Alive”. No I wasn’t awake enough for that either but I left it on. Yes, I did listen to the Clapton one later. Please remember not to music without proper caffeination. It can be quite a rude awakening.
And now on to the week. Now that I’ve finished up the Puzzler project I’m working on the next segment. I’ve watched and read all the stuff I’m supposed to and I’m trying to do the homework. So far I’ve made a post that I’m supposed to and I added a forum comment. I think I have about 5 or so more items to complete, maybe 6. Then I need to start thinking about what to do for the next project. The idea is to create a museum or science fair sort of display showcasing a company or industry that could be heavily impacted by VR. At the moment, the challenge I am daunted by, is finding the required material to add relevant audio and video to the experience. I know once I get an idea and get rolling with it things will be fine. At the moment, I find myself doing what I do when faced with big scary new work. No matter how much fun it is or how much I like it. I’m procrastinating.
I am very good a procrastinating. This week I decided to play guitar, work on the Ovation painting, watch my friends test for their new black belts, and go out to the Blues Jam as my procrastination. No really.
Here’s an updated work in progress picture of the Ovation painting. I have made some progress on it from the last time I posted a picture. If I can manage my time well enough I might even get more work done on it. That would be a fun thing. The Music Room could really use more art on that one wall.
I also got my business cards. Hooray! I am very pleased with how they turned out. I used Moo.com. I got the recycled cotton ones. They are made from t-shirt cuttings so they are recycling from the fashion industry. I think that’s a cool thing.
I’m off from the day job this week. And as always I have intentions of doing so much more than is realistic. I do plan on getting all the homework bits for the VR Class completed. As I mentioned, I’ve got a couple done. And I hope to get started on the big project since it’s due date will be running up on me faster than I expect. We’ll see how that goes. Since I am off from the day job that means I will have time for a few other things, I hope, besides just VR Class. I’m hoping to get more done on the Ovation painting. I would like to see it finished sooner rather than later. I do still have a Gretsch painting to get back to. And there is always fun computer 3D art to be working on. We’ll see how things go.
It is Thanksgiving week here in the U.S. and I will be spending a good bit of the actual day with my parents. Both my Mom and I will be cooking things which could be eventful. Though hopefully not. We’ll be trying at least two new recipes from completely different types of cookbooks. We like to keep things interesting. Afterwards it’s back to the lessons and projects for me. I’ll try to have more pictures next week.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone.
