This is going to be a big of a newsy post about my art prints site. I’ve got a few things that I’m excited about that I want to share. I have been busy working on more art for the site. I have just about doubled the number of pieces that I started with which in the fairly short time is exciting. And I am continuing to create more items to go up on the store. More about that in a minute. I’m also excited about my new logo. I’ll tell you about that too. I’ve got a tip for you for when you order something from the new store, and finally an announcement for an upcoming event. Don’t worry all you need is email for it.
First more art. I have a new piece that I should be posting this week. It came together quite quick for me. I started it and thought I was fighting with it and before I knew it, it announced that it was done. Not every piece does that so it’s fun when it happens. As well as a little startling. This piece that I’ve just finished is a flower so it’s in color. The only thing left to do is to sign it. Even though I think a piece is completed, I tend to wait a couple of days after I think it’s done before signing it. It feels weird to sign something and then go back and tweak it. For me, once it’s signed, it’s done. Thus, the reason for waiting a day or two. I expect the signing to be happening in a day or two followed by posting it on the store.
I’ve started another piece. I actually started it about the same time I started the one I just finished, but it was just the outlining or sketch in. That part is all done and I’m ready to start adding the detail. This one is different from what I have on the store so far. It’s not an animal or a flower. This one is related to my other passion. It’s a guitar headstock. If you are into guitars, it’s probably going to be more your speed than a flower or an animal. I’m excited and a little trepidatious as I am doing a different style for it than I have on some other guitar related paintings that I have done in the past, so it will be an adventure.
And the really great thing for me is that even after I finish this guitar piece, I already have two more paintings in mind to do. So, if you are interested in staying up to date, sign up with your email at the store so you can get updates. Right now, I have the service for the website sending emails, but I’m planning on adding one with just the updates of the new items. As soon as I can figure out how to do that.
The logo. I have a new logo. I’m excited. It’s the first real logo I’ve had for myself that I really like. I did not make it. I can do things for other people but for whatever reason when it comes to making my own logo, I just can’t. I’m too close to it and get all caught up in whether this image or that image portrays what I want it too and I go back and forth with myself for days. It’s really not pretty. So, as part of setting up the art site, I had a logo created. I’m really excited about it.
Hot tip. If you haven’t poked around much on the new site, you may have only seen or looked at the prints. You might not have noticed that there is merchandise that you can get the art on as well. You can get it on t-shirts, coffee mugs, yoga mats, and other things. If you are ordering one of these, make sure to hit the customize option and resize the image so it fits on your item the way you want. The t-shirts in particular need it and I noticed a couple of other things as well. I can set these all to a particular size but then they might not be quite what you want so I’ll leave that adjustment to you. I just want to make sure you know it’s there to do.
And the announcement. I mentioned earlier about signing up your email at SusanMichelleArtist.com earlier. It’s not only so you can stay informed. It’s also so you can get entered into the giveaway I am going to be doing. I have a couple of prints on hand, and I will be giving away one of them. To enter the giveaway just go to SusanMichelleArtist.com and sign up. I’ll let post here and on Instagram, and probably Facebook, when the final window is with the deadline.
That’s the update for now. I’ll be in the studio working on that guitar piece and preparing to work on the next piece, or two. Cheers.
